Nominating Petitions and Qualifying Contributions for Public Financing

Please click HERE if you are a 2026 Primary candidate who would like to receive nominating petitions and/or a 2026 Primary judicial candidate who would like to sign up to receive qualifying contributions for public financing. This portal is also for voters who would like to sign nominating petitions for candidates or make contributions to public financing for a candidate.

  1. Candidates: Register your Campaign on the Electronic Petition Portal.
  2. Registered Voter: Login to sign a petition for a candidate. Registered voters can make qualifying contributions toward candidates qualifying for public financing.

Call for nominations: The John Lewis Youth Leadership Award 2025

The Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver would like to receive nominations for civic-minded young people in our state to be awarded with the John Lewis Youth Leadership Award.

The award is to recognize a gifted, civic-minded young person in each state in the US each year.

Please consider these eligibility criteria below and nominate young people in your community.

NOTICE: New Mexico Now Has Semi-Open Primaries

New Mexico now has semi-open primaries, effective July 1, 2025. That means all decline-to-state voters (aka non-affiliated voters who have not registered with a major or minor party) can participate in New Mexico Primary Elections without changing their registration status. Semi-open primaries do not affect the upcoming Regular Local Election in November 2025. The next Primary Election will be in June 2026.

IMPORTANT BUSINESS SERVICES INFORMATION

  • On December 9, 2024 all online business transactions will be available at https://enterprise.sos.nm.gov. Please update your records and bookmarks.
  • Beginning 12/2/2024, all received paper filings will be transitioned to our new system and processed on December 9. All online Business, Notary, Apostille and UCC transactions will be unavailable beginning December 5 at 5:00 p.m. and will remain unavailable through December 8, 2024 as we transition systems.
  •  If you have a prepaid account balance in the current Business Filing System, you will receive a refund to the name and address on file.
