IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the Governor’s new executive order and the ongoing public health emergency, as of 8:00 am on Tuesday, March 24th the Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State is indefinitely suspending all in-person services and transactions, with no exceptions. We will no longer be accommodating walk-ins or in-person appointments. This suspension applies to both our Elections Division and our Business Services Division. All Apostilles must be mailed in for processing.

We encourage all customers to utilize our online resources for filing and submitting documents. All Election Division related questions may be emailed to SOS.Elections@state.nm.us; and any Business Services questions may be emailed to Business.Services@state.nm.us. You may also call our general number at 505-827-3600 with any questions. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation for the safety and wellbeing of the entire community.

Election Deadlines

October 6 – in person voting available at your local county clerk’s office

October 17 – expanded in person early voting begins

October 20 – last day to request an absentee ballot

October 31 – early voting and same day voter registration ends

November 3 – Election Day

Business Services Division Updates

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Effective April 1, 2020, Business Services will no longer accept internal forms with a revision date prior to 2020. All filings received must only be submitted via Online Services or by paper form as prescribed by the Office of the Secretary of State.

ATTENTION:
All biennial corporate reports with a due date of April 15, 2020 will be automatically granted an extension to follow suit with the federal tax extension granted to July 15, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
