Roberto Mondragon
Former Lt. Governor
Roberto Mondragon (July 27, 1940 – January 7, 2026) is a well known public figure in New Mexico. He held the office of Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico from January 1, 1979 – January 1, 1983 under Governor Bruce King. He was also a well accomplished musician and music artist who had recorded two albums. He was well known for the New Mexico Spanish Language State Song, “Asi Es Nuevo Mexico” which he recorded in 1971. He was also known for dedicating much of his life to the the preservation of maintaining Hispanic Heritage in New Mexico.
