It’s finally 2020 and that means the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States are in full swing! Be sure to use the hashtag #Suffrage100 if you’re posting or talking about women’s suffrage on social media or online throughout the year.

In New Mexico there will be events happening throughout the year commemorating this historic occasion and we’ll do the best we can here at the Secretary of State’s Office to keep you up-to-date as to what’s going on and how you can get involved.

The first thing to know is that there is a wonderful statewide calendar of events hosted at ABQtodo.com devoted just to the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. Check that link often as new events are being added regularly.

Here’s what’s on tap for this week:

An advocate of suffrage, Otero-Warren achieved political prominence for her promotion of Spanish/English education and involvement in educational and health efforts supporting Indo-Hispano nuevomexicanos.
